Gardening Tips for October
Enjoy your roses, delphiniums and irises!
Seedlings can still be transplanted into the garden.
Water all perennials if the weather is dry. Leave the leaves of
your winter flowering bulbs to die down and feed with
Multifeed for next season.
Feed your lawn once a month with 2.3.2, water and mow
regularly.
Fuchsias - Pinch back to encourage new growth.
Cammellias - In the middle of the month feed with 30g
ammonium sulphate dissolved in 5L of water. Water before
and after application. If hydrangea leaves are turning yellow
apply iron chelate as directed and 30g Epsom salts. Dissolve
both in 5L of water and apply to damp soil. Water in lightly.
Roses – Water at least once a week – remove faded flowers.
Watch out for black spot and mildew!
Vegetables – sow beetroot, broccoli, peppers, carrot, beans,
spinach, lettuce, parsley, Tomato.
